Tuckahoe's name is tied to marble: quarries along what is now Marbledale Road shipped stone to New York City in the 1800s. Today the village and its neighbors are a mix of pre-war co-op buildings near the Metro-North stations and stucco-and-timber houses on the curving streets of Bronxville and Lawrence Park. We service the chimneys that heat them and repair the brick, stone and marble around their entrances, from a shop on the road named for those quarries. Calls are taken 24/7.

We sit between the Bronx River Parkway and the Hutch, so most villages around us are a short drive. Pick one to watch the van go.
Counted from 125 Marbledale Rd. Parkway backups and station-area parking change things, so we confirm a window when you call.
The brick apartment buildings around Tuckahoe, Bronxville and Crestwood stations mostly date from the 1920s and '30s. Their tall chimneys vent central boilers, many converted from oil to gas. That change can leave an old flue the wrong size or eaten away by condensation.
We meet the superintendent in the boiler room and get roof access arranged through the managing agent.
Video from the breeching to the roof shows cracked tile, debris and any condensation damage.
Findings, photos and options in a document you can circulate before the meeting.
Stainless liners matched to the boiler's output, with notice to residents before work starts.

PointingWorn joints and spalled brick on houses and apartment buildings, done from ladders, lifts or scaffold.
LeaksWater around the chimney tracked down and stopped, whether flashing, crown or porous brick.
SweepsWood fireplaces and inserts swept clean, with an inspection and photos each visit.
Hairline cracks let rain behind the stucco, where it freezes and pops it off the brick in sheets.
Scratch, brown and finish coats rebuilt rather than a single skim that cracks by spring.
Float, dash or troweled finish copied from your house so the patch disappears once painted.
Some streets fall under design review. We supply photos and specs when your village asks.
Something else? Dispatch is at (914) 335-8635 at any hour.
Yes, a live dispatcher handles calls through the night and on holidays. A building with no heat because of a blocked boiler flue, chunks of stucco on the sidewalk or rain pouring past the chimney get a crew lined up. With smoke, the smell of gas or a beeping CO detector, step outside and call 911 first.
Often yes. Gas exhaust is cooler and wetter than oil, and an oversized old flue lets it condense and eat the mortar. We size a liner to the new boiler.
Yes. We coordinate access through the agent and super, and provide written proposals and certificates of insurance for the board.
Water is getting behind it, usually through cracks, a failed crown or missing flashing. We fix the entry point and rebuild the coats properly.
Small chips and cracks can be pinned and filled to match. Badly broken treads are replaced with marble or bluestone cut to size.
Yes, along with brownstone and granite sills found on older Westchester homes.

Older homes and apartment lobbies around here often have marble or bluestone steps, sills and thresholds. Marble is soft, so de-icers, settling and a century of foot traffic wear it down, crack it and loosen it.
Lifted, re-bedded and leveled so the step stops moving underfoot.
Window and door sills pinned and patched or replaced to keep water out of the wall.
Which de-icers etch marble and which don't, so the repair lasts more than one winter.
Apartment entrances repaired in sections so residents always have a way in.
